Students found the simulation super engaging and fun, while giving them something to learn
To teach students basic principles of physics (drag, resistance, impact force, and gravity) through simulating an "Eggstronaut" escape pod scenario. The students must construct an "Eggscape Pod" that will survive 3 different heights.
Each student was given $20 of mock currency for their budget and spent their money at a "Stem Shop" with supplies (cardboard, bubble wrap, straws, rubberbands, etc) in order to construct their "Eggscape Pod."
6 students particpated in the challenge with only a few surviving till the last round with everyone learning something new along the way.
Our challenge was a great success! Students from various ages participated with everyone having fun while learning from their mistakes as they progressed.
