Students found the lab super engaging and fun, while giving them something to learn
To teach students the fundamentals of engineering and structural design by challenging them to construct a bridge that balances strength, stability, and creativity.
Using limited materials such as popsicle sticks, glue, and string, students designed and built their own model bridges. They then tested each structure's load-bearing capacity to see which could hold the most weight.
Students developed problem-solving, teamwork, and engineering skills while learning how real-world bridges are designed for efficiency and durability. They also gained an appreciation for the role of physics and design in structural engineering.
Our event was a great success! Students from various ages participated in designing and building their bridges with them learning basic concepts of force and pressure.
