Kids will conduct a thrilling hands-on science experiment, mixing everyday household ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and yeast to create a chemical reaction ultimately making elephant toothpaste, an overflowing eruption of foam. The experiment allows the children to learn about fundamental chemistry concepts including chemical reactions, catalysts, gas production, and exothermic processes in a safe yet enjoyable way. These simple but fun experiments are designed to spark interest in STEM among the local youth.
Kids were taught the science behind elephant toothpaste and used household ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide, yeast, and dish soap to create a chemical reaction. This reaction resulted in an eruption of elephant toothpaste which the kids were really excited by. We did another experiment where we covered the bottle the elephant toothpaste was in right before the reaction, then shook it up causing it to create an explosion which the kids enjoyed as well.
